Everything is around me and I got nothing but time. Working during the week still asks for less of me than my days in school do, so I get to fill the rest of my moments with all the little things I can never get around to. Guitar and books, maybe even drums, weekend trips to Los Angeles, making buttons and clothes and making even more prints for fun, spending more time at my friend’s homes, listening to records as a singular activity, calligraphy, making videos.
So far though, I’ve just been spending all of the money and throwing those tiny pop-fireworks that come in inch-big boxes from Chinatown at moving cars and drunk men.
Summer’s here and the time is right for fighting in the street.

Carly. My Seattle girl sensei, now in NYC. She cuts hair at Seagull, you should have her do yours and tell you all the stories about me at age 13.
Finding old pictures of yourself from high school and remembering that, even though everything sucked through your 17 year-old mind lens then, it was kind of legendary.
